The choice of pillars for the Milton Keynes Rose is being carried out by a ‘Pillar Panel’ chaired by the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, and includes representatives of the Cenotaph Trust, the Parks Trust and local historian, Roger Kitchen.

The Panel will choose 106 pillars initially, taking account of the views of the public and interest groups at a series of engagement events held in 2012.

However, recognising that there will be notable events in the future, the Panel will continue to meet annually to consider further suggestions for pillars, until all 140 pillars are allocated.
